go to command prompt and type in either
Ping Loopback, or Ping 127.0.0.1
or Ping another device's IP Address
The ping command.
Use Ping to the local loopback adaptor; that tests whether TCP/IP has been installed and is working on the system.
Ping is the name of a standard software utility used to test network connections. In some games (I am not sure about CoD) you can get kicked from servers for 'ping too high.'
The ping rate is the communication delay between two computers or a computer and a network. A computer ping test can determine how fast a computer can connect to others.
PING utility can be used to check the existence of remote computer
The ping utility allows users to test if a host can be reached on an IP network, as well as the round-trip time for messages from a host to a destination. Response times are generally tracked in milliseconds.
A ping is sent out from the testing center to the computer to identify the best server to use. Then a test of the downloading from the test facility and an upload to the test facility are conducted to test the computers speed.
Ping is a computer network administration utility used to test the reachability of a host on an Internet Protocol (IP) network and to measure the round-trip time for messages sent from the originating host to a destination computer. Ping is used to identify if there is an internet connection and how fast it is.
"ping" will test for connectivity to a device at the Ethernet Address Level...but that does not mean the device's software is actually talking to the network or responding to the network. "ping" WILL tell you the device is wired up and has power applied to it's network interface board.
