Diagnosing lung cancer usually begins with a chest x-ray. If there is reason for concern following the x-ray a CT Scan, MRI or PET Scan will be performed. Depending on the results of these scans, a patient may need a tissue sample tested through Sputum Cytology or needle aspiration.
