As a franchise, The Hunger Games offers fans social interaction, personal identity and entertainment

Social Interaction

- When the Hunger Games was first released on DVD in the UK, the company ran a twitter hashtag "TheUKWillBeWatching," where all fans with the DVDs started playing them at 8pm that night and could tweet with the hashtag what they thought of the film and how they were feeling, allowing them all to interact.

- The official website, thecapitol.pn, has many interactive features which the users can play about with. One old function in particular was the ability to create your own Capitol clothing and then share it with your friends on Facebook/Twitter (I'm not sure if this is still available with the new Mockingjay campaign)

Personal Identification

- On the website, fans can create their own District ID cards, much like the citizens of Panem would need to carry with them. These can be signed up for using a Facebook or Twitter account and will assign you to a District, using your name and profile picture to perfect your own card. These can then be ordered for shipping on cafepress if the users so wish to have a tangible card.

Entertainment

- As with any franchise, if the viewers enjoy it, they will most likely pull entertainment from it, so that one's pretty self explanatory!

With regard to the information gratification, the argument is quite weak and would only really apply to "super fans" who want to know all about the world of Panem. Therefore this gratification would most likely come from fansites, blogs, fanfiction and other user generated content.
