I'm sure there are a lot more uses, but thease are the most common.
Horses have many useful purposes. They can be used for sports such as racing, jumping and more for entertainment. They can be used as therapy animals for disabled people, some miniature horses are even guide animals for the blind. They can go into areas where even ATV's cannot reach allowing humans to access very remote places. Horses are also still used for agriculture.
Generally, due to their lands, the horse was most prized and used by the Plains tribes and the Southwestern tribes. The horse allowed for an easier means of moving the tribe from place to place. Warfare was done on horseback. Horses were used for trade.
