What are five examples of electromagnetic radiation?

There are a few different types of energy in the EM spectrum. The ones that you are probably the most familiar with are radio waves, microwaves, visible light, ultraviolet rays, and x-rays. Radio waves are what the music on the radio travels by, and also cell phones use radio waves. Microwaves are the type of energy that are used in microwaves (to cook and reheat food). Visible light is everything that we as humans can physically see with our naked eye. Ultraviolet rays are the type of energy that the sun emits. Skin cancer is caused by UV (ultraviolet) rays if you don't use sunscreen and repeatedly get sunburned, and don't protect your skin. UV rays can be very dangerous. you probably know a little bit about X-rays if you have ever broken a bone, or gone to the dentist and had x-rays of your teeth and jaw taken. X-rays allow doctors to see your bones. These rays can damage your body, so you are usually given a lead vest to wear if you have an x-ray taken of your body. There are also Infrared rays and gamma rays. I don't know as much about these as I know about the others, but I do know that Infrared are associated with heat and lasers and stuff. Gamma rays, if I remember correctly, are in outer space. It has been a while since I studied these in school. I know for a fact that the information on radio, microwaves, visible light, UV, and x-rays are correct;however if you need more information on infrared and gamma rays, just search the internet, or your textbook if you have one. Just make sure you are looking at anaccuratesite, and not one that someone just put up to screw you over. I hoe this helped and if you need to look for information on infrared and gamma rays, i wish you luck and hope you find what you are looking for!

What is ultraviolet radation?

UV stands for "ultraviolet" radiation, radiation of a shorter wavelength than visible light. It is the part of sunlight that heats the atmosphere and the surface of Earth. One form of UV radiation causes human skin to tan.

The wireless keyboard or mouse uses infrared technology rather than ultraviolet rays to communicate with the computer, and as such there is no risk of radiation exposure with this.

What are the different uses of the electromagnetic spectrum waves?

Gamma Rays are very deadly and their uses are limited. They are used for gamma spectroscopy. X-rays are used for detection of composition of various substances and for viewing the structure of the bones. Ultraviolet rays are used for sterilization. Visible light, well you know all about it. Infrared rays are used for low light Photography. Microwaves are used for heating substances. Radiowaves are used for communications.

What are uses of infrared rays?

the uses of infrared rays:Doctors use infrared lamps to treat skin diseases and relieve the pain of sore muscles. In these treatments, the infrared rays pass through the patient's skin and produce heat.Scientific advances pertaining to infrared have allowed buildings to keep cool even in the summer. Gold transparent films in the windows of large office buildings reflect infrared and help to keep temperatures cool.Photographers use film that is sensitive to infrared rays to take pictures in places where there is no visible light.
