It depends on when you visit that country. Basically Portugal has a mild climate with warm wet winters and fairly hot dry summers because its location is east of the Atlantic Ocean. In the capital Lisbon average temperatures range from 8 degrees Centigrade in January to 29 degrees Centigrade in July. But it is not unusual to get temperatures well over 30 degrees Centigrade in some summers particularly at the holiday resort of Faro in far south of Portugal. Also temperatures below zero can often be experienced in winter in the mountainous areas north of Tagus River.
