In the end of the 17th century over 150 citizens were accused, for witchcraft in colonial Massachusetts, arrested and imprisoned. In the following trials that took place in various places 29 persons were convicted and 19 were hanged. One of the places that the trials took place was Salem town and the whole issue became history under the name of "The Salem Witch Trials"

The suspected witch or warlock (a male witch), are put through a series of annitiations (tests) that were believed to determine wheather or not the accused person was indeed a witch/warlock. These tests included what was known as 'needling' which was basicly were a trusted member of the town would make tha accused stand nude in the street and take long needles and stabb the person every where over thier body. If they bled, they were human,if not,they were witch.
At a witch trial a women who is accused of being a witch is sent to the stand where they sentanced. If they are a witch then they are strangled/hanged and then they are burned.
