There are various things Germany needed to win the battle of Stalingrad but the key ones are having logistic supplies to the battle Field and better battle condition's.
The battle conditions were very harsh as at the time, it was the harshest that the USSR has seen since the start of the century. This made the battle ground treacherous for vehicles to cross and it didn't help the soldiers in the Battle Especially the German 6th Army, which were trapped in the city of Stalingrad, majority died either from frost bite or starvation.
The reason why Germany didn't have much logistical supplies of ammo and food was for many things. It didn't help with the battle conditions which made trucks nearly impossible to cross and whiles the Germans try to air supply the people in the Battle field and USSR bombed close to all of German airfields within a proximity range of Stalingrad, which made sending supplies via air close to impossible.
the German defeat at the battle of Stalingrad in late 1942 and early 1943 and Germany's attempt in taking over Italy in January 1943
When the Battle of Stalingrad officially ended on February 2nd 1945, a few things happened/ Such as, even though the axis surrendered, 11,000 Germans still fought to the death for another month. Also after the surrender, the axis began to decline from the eastern front.
Germany lost many things in Stalingrad; soldiers, oil, equipment but most of all it lost its ability to win the war. until then the only nations in the world to defeat Germany were Britain in the skies over their homeland, and the American/British alliance in Africa. But at Stalingrad they had encountered the brutality of the Red Army.It was such a devastating defeat that after Stalingrad Germany could only prolong the war. There was no chance of a German victory after that.
battle all of the things needed to battle and u gots it!!
Hitler made promises of things the Germans wanted and needed to hear.
The battle of Stalingrad effected us greatly. Without the Soviets winning, they wouldn't have gotten the chance to move into Berlin, Germany, and attack the Nazis from the East. If they didn't get the chance to do that, one of two things could have happened. 1) The Nazis could have retreated into occupied Poland. 2) The Nazis could have moved Eastward into Moscow, and toppled the Soviets, making us lose an ally in the war.
The Battle of Stalingrad was a major battle of World War II in which Nazi Germany and its allies fought the Soviet Union for control of the city of Stalingrad (now Volgograd) in southwestern Russia. The battle took place between 23 August 1942 and 2 February 1943. It was the largest battle on the Eastern Front and was marked by brutality and disregard for military and civilian casualties. It is among the bloodiest battles in the history of warfare, with the higher estimates of combined casualties amounting to nearly two million. The heavy losses inflicted on the German army made it a turning point in the war. After the Battle of Stalingrad, German forces never recovered their earlier strength, and attained no further strategic victories in the East.
Pearl Harbor, holocaust, D-day, the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Battle of Britain, Battle of the Bulge, Battle of Stalingrad, Battle of Midway, the Potsdam Conference, the death of President Roosevelt
Well it put things in perspective. Be aide it tools him that the allies were coming; and they we were strong. He was angered, and dissopointed that operation barbossa didnt go his way. So....he was shocked and unprepared for what would happen next.
Fear of Germans or German things
Germany lost the Battle of Stalingrad because it could not resupply or reinforce the German Sixth Army . The Russians had severed the city from outside and besieged the city leaving the Germans with only the airfields to resupply the defenders . The resupply by air was insufficient to the needs of the German army and when the Russians overran the airfields then the Luftwaffe was forced to attempt resupply by parachute - a miserable failure for the besieged defenders . To exacerbate things Hoth's 4th Panzer Army's relief attempt was unable to break the siege . This failure along with Hitler's "Stand Fast" order meant the Sixth Army was doomed .The Russians , on the other-hand , were able to reinforce their own troops by crossing the Volga river .~ see related link below .
These things didn't figure anywhere in most Germans' priorities at the time.
