Easier trade with other members of the EU. Being able to work with other countries across issues of common interest. For example some countries will have industries that others don't, like sea-fishing, and so they can work together to stress the importance of their industry. There are many other benefits. Some countries in the EU have adopted the Euro as their currency, so that when people travel, they don't have to change their money. Countries have been able to benefit by the use of ideas of other countries. Poorer countries are able to get money to invest and help them improve their country, like building better roads for example.
