water pollution affects plants and organisms living aquatic environments. the eefect damages not only individual species and populations but also the biological communities. it has been suggested that it isthe leading worldwide cause for deaths and diseases, it accounts for more than 14000 lives daily. many chemical substances arte toxic, surface run-off from fertilized soil used by farmers deposits pollutants in lakes, rivers and dams. this results in a problem for rural communities who deoend on these water sources fpr dpmestic processes not to mention marine life suffering to a great extent. water pollution on the coast impacts negatively on tourism therefore the economy of any country decreases resulting in the standard of living increasing making it harder for people to survive.
