The three purposes of cell division are repair, reproduction, and growth.
In multicellular organisms, cell division is essential for three major functions: growth that make up the lining of your throat have a short life span.
1. Growth, ex. the cell must reach maturity before anything can be done.
2. Repair, ex. this is how cuts in your skin heal.
3. Reproduction, ex. after a cell gets to its full size it must split so it maintains its surface area/ volume ratio.

Cell division prevents the cell from becoming too large.
Interphase has three phases: G1--The cell is functioning normally but preparing for cell division so it makes more proteins, organelles and increases the volume of cytoplasm. S-"Synthesis"--The cell duplicates its DNA. G2--The cell continues growing to prepare for cell division.
Cell division is when a cell splits in two to make more cells, and the cycle is where the cell does all the other stuff. A full life span of a cell is cell cycle that include cell division+ cell death and cell division cycle is the process of a cell to divide into two.
Cell division has three purposes for the organism. The are responsible for the reproduction, growth and maintenance of both single celled and multicellular organisms.
