The two components of an insurgency are the insurgents themselves, who seek to challenge or overthrow an established authority, and the support base, which includes the local population that provides resources, information, and legitimacy to the insurgents. Together, these components enable the insurgency to sustain its activities and challenge the existing political or military order.
