Bronchus (Greek for "windpipe") is singular. Bronchi is plural. The primary right and left bronchi direct the air into the right and left lungs. It then splits to go to each lobe of the lung. These tubes are secondary or lobar bronchi. The next division is the bronchiole tree, the alveolar duct and the alveolar sacs or clusters.
