Orangutans only live wild in Sumatra and Borneo. Both of those islands are part of Asia. However, there are orangutans in zoos worldwide.
The Sumatran species is in the worst ecological position and is listed as critically endangered, while the Bornean species is listed as an endangered species.
The very adaptable leopard is still common in most places where it is found in Africa and Asia.Leopards are not extinct. They can be found in the wild, and in zoos.
The only true wild horse left is the Przewalski's horse which is found only on the Russian and Central Asian steppes. All other horses listed as 'wild' are actually just feral and can be found across the USA , Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, and a few other places.
It is currently believed that less then 25,000 orangutans are alive in the wild today. They have a life expectancy of about 30 years but are victimized by human expansion into their habitats.
Orangutans live about 50 years in captivity; their life span in the wild is only 30-45 years.
