Neptune was not discovered by spacecraft.
The existence of Neptune was predicted on paper by Frenchman Urbain Le Verrier and Englishman John Couch Adams.
It was later discovered by telescope by Johann Gottfried Galle in 1846.
Voyager 2 did a flyby of Neptune in 1989 and sent images back to Earth. But it did not discover it.
The only spacecraft t from earth to visit the gas giant Neptune was Voyager 2. It passed within 3,000 kilometers of the planet's north pole on August 25, 1989.
Currently only one has been sent to Neptune.
That was Voyager 2. It performed a flyby in August 1989.
The Voyager 2 probe visited all four gas giant planets; Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. So far, it is the only space craft that has flown close by to the planet Neptune.
The planet "Neptune" is a greenish color with a blueish hue, as observed from Earth.
Saturn was discovered by ancient Greeks and Romans, so sorry no space crafts.
non
No. This would not be possible as Neptune is made up of gas and does not have an actual surface.
Neptune was predicted by mathematical calculations and first observed on Sept 23, 1846 by Johann Galle, Urbain Le Verrier and John Couch Adams. This was the first time Neptune was observed, as it is not visible with the naked eye.
Voyager 2 is the only spacecraft to visited Neptune.
yes voyager 2
The Voyager 2 space probe flew past Neptune in 1989. Other than that it has only been observed by Earth-based telescopes.
Neptune
Only one space probe has ever visited Neptune, and that's Voyager 2, which flew past in 1989. However, I suppose you could add the Hubble Space Telescope to the list too, since even though it orbits Earth it is a space mission and has taken photos of Neptune that are far clearer than any we can obtain from the ground - nothing approaching the quality of Voyager 2's pictures, though.
NASA has sent a total of 5 space crafts to mars.
