How did Australians get to America?

The first Europeans to arrive in Australia for permanent settlement were the convicts who were transported from England to Australia. They were fully cared for and were not left to fend for themselves. They were sheltered and fed, but made to work hard. If they shirked their duties, they could be flogged or have their rations reduced. The marines and officers who watched over the convicts had enough rations and livestock to keep going until farms could be established. Hunting was carried out to a small degree. Europeans did not initially develop a taste for native Australian wildlife, and the colony almost starved until it had its first successful barley crop, and the 3rd Fleet arrived.

Why did the migration of humans from Africa to the rest of the world take place so slowly?

A better question might be, "What happened to all the earlier humans that left Africa?" Humans have been leaving Africa for 2 million years. Our branch left Kenya 60 thousand years ago. There were some Neanderthals left from an earlier migration out of Africa, but that was about it. Anyway, it took 10 thousand years to get to Australia. The food along that path was the same as it had been in Africa. Needless to say, life was dangerous and survival was difficult. In order for humans to move north, they had to solve several problems: How could they obtain food during periods when no food was available? How could they stay warm in colder weather? They had to create warmer clothing and discover a way to kill different animals. They created better stone tools so they could kill bigger animals, the middle stone age. They started wearing animal skins. At that point they became more successful than the Neanderthals. Then they could spread.

How did the mistreatment and death of native Americans affect the people of Africa?

Well...think about it...if all the native Americans are mistreated and they die off, who is left to do the labor for the europeans in the Americas? The answer is no one. Therefore, Europeans had to start getting slaves from Africa b/c of the lack of healthy and working natives.
