In the United States there are two main military holidays. The first is Memorial day, the last Monday in the month of May. The other is Veterans Day, the 11th of November, originally Armistice Day. The 4th of July is also a big celebration, but not specifically military.

They changed the name from Armistice Day to Veterans day because of the two wars that happened ever since Armistice Day was announced. Armistice Day was meant for all those who fought in World War One, the end of the war. Veterans Day is meant for all those who died in all wars.
Veteran's Day was originally named "Armistice Day", observing the end of WWI, when the Armistice was signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month ending WWI. Eventually, the holiday was renamed "Veterans' Day, in order to honor the sacrifice made by all veterans of all wars.

'Good Day' is two words.
They are not the same. They are two separate holidays with different focus. Memorial Day is the last Monday of May and is to remember those that died in the service of the US Military. Veterans Day is the 11th of November and is to show appreciation to those that served their country, living or dead.
Veterans Day and Memorial Day are the two in the US. July 4th is also used to recognize them.
