In my opinion, no ! If your asking if it is an Opiate, the answer is still no. It is a very weak, synthetic pain killer.

In Lab testing yes! But using a dipstick bought at Wal Mart or whevever else you can buy them OTC NO!! Tramadol is a mu opioid receptor agonist meaning it binds to the receptor to block pain...same receptor site that methadone uses,and some other narcotic pain medicines,but this necessarily doesnt mean anything..Its a scheduled drug in some states now because of its potential for abuse/addictiveness,etc. For example,Benzodiazepines effect the GABA receptors in the brain,also does Valerian Root which is OTC is the US..I just wanted to clarify that...Hope that helped ya! The answer to your question is NO for 2 reasons. #1 , Tramadol is non-narcotic so therefore it will not be tested for as a drug of abuse. Think about it. How are they going to test you for a drug that's non-narcotic? That's like giving you a drug test , finding Tylenol in your system and busting you for it. HAHA! It just does NOT add up. Pills like Hydrocodones , Oxycontins , Oxycodones , Valiums , Darvocets , Tylenol 3s.. Those are all controlled substances , hence the reason why you can fail a drug test because of them. # 2, it is not classified in any drug category. Although it binds to the opiate receptors in the brain , it is NOT an opiod of any kind! In a standard test you will not test positive and even in the extended tests i don't believe they test for them either. You have nothing to worry about. PS: I am on 5 Ultrams right now, I had an interview @ a job yesterday and it requires a drug test which I think I have this week. When I go to the drug test I'll probably be f****d up on these.
