Unique trees are usually refered to in the ribbon section. When trying to earn one of the tree related ribbons, it tells you to harvest 'unique trees'. There are no unique type of trees in farmville. What this is referring to is harvesting from different types of trees. Everytime you harvest from a different type of tree, you get points towards the ribbon.
I.e. You need to harvest 100 unique trees and you have 20 more to go. When you harvest a Lime tree, a Avocado tree, and a cherry tree, those give you one more tree closer to your goal. So, if you harvested a three trees, you then have 17 more trees to go to get that ribbon.
There are unique trees in farmville..unique tress are those that can only be received through gifting and cannot be bought.
Top part is wrong, I have ten different types of trees. I needed two more uniques for ribbon. I harvested all of them. When done I still had one more to go for ribbon. Not sure which was considered a unique. But I only bought two of my trees the rest were gifts.
