What are you doing wrong you have a Suzuki Samurai and on the crank and on cam pulleys you have the marks in time but your motor still wont run is your problem in the distributor?

It is possible that when you set the timing marks, or installed the distributor, the engine was not set to TDC (top dead center on the compression stroke of the #1 piston) and the timing is 180 degrees off.
