Nothing. It just shows you a view of the three planets and the Pewter Moon near the planet Poptropica.
You do not have to look through the telescope. It just familiarizes you with the solar system : the three planets (jungle, ice, and fire) and the nearby moon.
The planetarium is in the village. The planets in the telescope are not important except as background to the story.
walk through
Just enter the observatory and look. The telescope provides no actual information on the game, just some images of the planets and moons around Poptropica. When you finally enter space, you observe your spaceship from the exterior, as in video games.

you push through
The shiny thing you see when looking through the telescope on Club Penguin is typically the target or object you are viewing through the telescope. It could be a star, comet, or even a spaceship depending on the game's theme or event. It's meant to spark curiosity and add an element of mystery to the game.
Seen through the Planetarium's telescope, the moving vehicles are spaceships coming and going from the Pewter Moon. Mordred may have eventually reached there when he fled Arturus twenty years ago.
The island that uses spacecraft to travel through the quest is Astro Knights Island.
You can see the rest of the Poptropica solar system, including the nearby moon. This is only information and nothing you need to solve the game.
You go to the telescope where the guy is painting, look through the telescope and you can get on the jets now!!
After the Astro Knights island release in June 2009, the next regular feature was Poptropica's Haunted House in October 2009. (Available through the Poptropica Store) The next scheduled island was Counterfeit Island.
