I think that the meaning of life is different for each individual, just as we differ from one another. Everybody has a treasure that they value above all else, or an important mission that they seek to accomplish. Every person has his or her own perception of what the center of the universe is, his/her own reason to stay on earth and concept of what it means to be here. For a mother, the meaning of life might be to take good care of her child. For a doctor, it could be to save lives. For a beggar, the meaning of life may simply be to live, to find the courage and motivation to keep going, day after day, night after night. For me, the meaning of life is to experience life, to watch your very own story play out in front of your eyes, to participate in the creation of your tale for once rather than observe another’s from the side. We all have our own goals in life, but however dissimilar our purposes may be, all of them are for the greater purpose of contributing to the world, helping one another, and perfecting our imperfect lives and selves in the process. On the other hand, you could argue that there is no proof that we live for anything beyond enjoying life. We are here only because we want to be here, and it is not a greater purpose that we live for, but a greater purpose that we make out of our lives. There is no meaning tied to the concept of life itself, but everyone can find a meaning within their lives.
