You can give out any individually wrapped candies. Don't give out unwrapped candies like m&m's or skittles because it isn't sanitary unless they're in pouches. You CAN give out candy bars, some people do, but it may cost you a lot of money. Also, some people give out small goodies sold at somewhere like walmart like small glow in the dark skeleton toys, Halloween stickers, tattoos, teensy weensy notebooks, tiny containers of bubbles. Some examples of candy to hand out are tootsie tolls, lemon heads, snickers, peppermint patties, kit kats, butter fingers, zotz, kisses, suckers, nerds, milky ways, the possibilities are endless. You're bound to find at least one of these choices at your local store. And remember, any small goodie works, just make sure it's safe and wrapped. 
One food trend during the 70's was Fondue. People would buy fondue pots, which held melted cheese for dipping bread or hot oil which raw meat was dipped into with long forks. They would have fondue parties and play Twister. Before microwave ovens were invented, crock pots were popular in the 70's, which cooked food all day so a hot meal was ready when you got home. Also, Hamburger Helper hit it's peak during the 70's. At first there were only a few varieties, you took a pound of ground beef and had a meal. Now there are dozens of types of Hamburger Helper, as well as Tuna helper, but it's not as popular as it was in the 70's. And candies like Pop Rocks, Zotz, and Clark bars were popular. And NBC's "Saturday Night at The Movies" wasn't complete without a bowl of burnt Jiffy Pop stove-top popcorn to eat.

Oh, what a fantastic question! While there aren't many Aztec words that start with 'Z,' one beautiful word that comes to mind is "zazanilli," which means "to write or paint." The Aztecs had a rich language full of unique sounds and meanings, just like the happy little trees we paint.
