Perhaps the hardest obstacles that he had to overcome was his father who was absolutelly against Michelangelo being an artist. During the Renaissance times the profession of artist was looked down upon. Michelangelo took many a beating from his father.
Michelangelo is know for being a renaissance artist. He painted the cisteen (if thats how you spell it) chappel and also sculpted the David. he was also know as an arrogant man. hopw this helped!

Palestrina was alive 3 February 1525 or 2 February 1526 - 2 February 1594 so in the Italian Renaissance. He has often been seen in Renaissance polyphony. That's all I know.
