You would need to obtain a master's degree in library science. Your bachelors degree could be in an area that you are interested in--certainly literature, art, information technology and others would be useful. A bachelor's degree in education would enable you to qualify to be a school librarian.

It really depends on the school in which you are getting your Bachelors Degree from. Every college has it's own requirements for any degree.
