negative but if you don't fix the problem, it will come back on again and it won't pass smog if it was reset.
Remove the negative battery cable fromthe battery and let it set for about 30 minutes.
to reset "check engine light"- (on '05 freestyle) remove the negative cable from the battery for at least 20 min. It worked for me
just remove the battery cable for about 5min then put it back. that should reset the check engine light.
For the 1994, you have to remove the negative battery cable, then depress the brake and hold it in for 5 seconds to reset the check engine light.
