The wound must be kept clean, so don’t use any loose bedding like woodchip, Care fresh or straw, just use newspaper or vet bed. Vet bed is great because the urine will soak down to the bottom, meaning your rabbit won’t be lying on soiled bedding. A few days before the operation, keep a close eye on the amount your rabbit is eating
No, a hard stomach is not a sign of pregnancy in rabbits, but it probably is a sign of illness (maybe gas, bloat, or GI Stasis -- all very serious conditions!). See the vet right away! See the related questions below for more detail. No, you can't use hamster bedding in a rabbit's nest. Bedding should be clean straw or grass hay. The mother rabbit should have a nest box that you can remove from the cage while you clean it.
You should check the label on the bedding to see if that is safe.
There are plenty of bedding materials out there. Use what you like best. Aspen shavings are very nice.
Puberty. When a male rabbit reaches 6 months and is not neutered his hormones will be at their peak. The reason a rabbit will then start marking with urine is territorial. Neutering should help to fix this problem. If he has learned to use a litter box successfully before once the hormones have gone he will revert back to this normally.
Use shredded toilet paper. i am not sure about hamster bedding. also if you can, find dry leaves and use these
No, soft bedding should not be used! You should try carefresh. Never use cedar!
Yes, newspaper is not an ideal bedding for rabbits as the ink can be harmful if ingested. It's best to use safe bedding options like hay, straw, or paper-based bedding for your rabbit's enclosure.
Bunnies love a type of bedding called "Carefresh". It is fantastic! NEVER use wood shavings! It can give them kidney disease. Carefresh is biodegradable, so you can dump it outside, and it is bunny safe. It is by far the safest and most comfortable bedding for your bunny.
They usually become very cranky and do no like to be handled much. She should also start building a nest out of the stuff you use for their bedding. Hope that helped, lots and lots of love, Bobby xxx
You can train rabbit to use the litter box. First, make the bedding and litter a different material. Example: I use corncob litter which is gravelly and rough and for bedding I use newspaper which is softer. Next, put the litter box in the corner. (Rabbits are tidy animals and prefer to use the toilet somewhere else). Also, you can train your rabbit to come when you call his name. First, call his name when your near him. Next, when it is all quiet and your rabbit is about 5 feet away, call his name. If he comes, give him a treat and say praising words. Practice this multiple times until he does it all the time!
You should not use cat litter, pine shavings, or cedar shavings. It would be better and healthier to get a guinea pig a different bedding.
"Supposed to" is used to express something that is expected or intended to happen based on a plan or belief. It is often used to talk about obligations, duties, or arrangements that were previously arranged or inferred. Example: "I am supposed to meet my friend for lunch today."
