Cheetahs do not eat something they have not killed. They usually avoid fighting and will surrender a kill immediately to even a single hyena, rather than risk injury. Because cheetahs are generally loners and rely so heavily on their speed to obtain their meals, any injury that slows them down could essentially be life threatening.

Cheetahs also tend to be solitary cats. They do not tend to hunt in large groups.

When stalking prey, cheetah camouflage themselves in the grass.

The cheetah's adaptations include

  1. They have large lungs and heart for breathing and blood circulation
  2. A cheetah's claws do not retract, so they act as cleets when they run, preventing the cheetah from slipping.
  3. Their large eyes are positioned high on their heads, to help the cheetah spot prey.
  4. Their speed reduces the need for stalking.
  5. Their small and sleek bodies enable greater manoeuvrability. Even their spine is extra flexible to allow a greater range of motion.
  6. Their spots provide excellent camouflage.
  7. Their extremely long tail acts as a rudder and counterbalance for following their prey through tight turns at high speed.
  8. The head is small and aerodynamic; they have extra large nostrils and hearts for providing their bodies with enough oxygen at high speeds. Because of how much space is taken up in the skull by the nostrils, they actually don't have a lot of space for big teeth or large jaw muscles, so their bite strength isn't as strong as other cats like lions and leopards.
  9. They hunt later in the morning and earlier in the evening than other large predators so they don't have to compete for food. Because of that, they have black stripes down their noses to reduce the glare of the sun, like built-in eye black.
  10. Aware of the relatively thin bone structure of their legs, they would rather allow other scavengers to take away their catch rather than risk injury by fighting to keep it. Also, Cheetahs do not eat from something they haven't killed, and if approached by another animal, will most of the time give up their kill in favor of getting into a fight.
  11. They even have adaptations as cubs: they're born with a scruffy mane or mantle that makes them look like honey badgers. Honey Badgers are aggressive and tough to kill, so larger predators like lions won't mess with them.

It has small paws to run quickly and a larger nose to inhale better when running.
Cheetahs have very long legs, slim bodies, and small heads, perfect for speeding across the Savannah. They have large nostrils, lungs, and heart, which helps the cheetah run for a longer time. Though they appear delicate and "breakable", they are actually very muscular under their graceful appearance. They can use their speed to run away from danger and avoid injury, or scare lions and other larger predators by dashing and swerving around them, snarling and lashing out with their claws while avoiding the lion's attacks. A cheetah's claws do not retract, so they act as cleets when they run, preventing the cheetah from slipping. Their large eyes are positioned high on their heads, to help the cheetah spot prey.

Cheetahs use their speed and camouflage to hunt prey. Gazelle's, Impala and Springbok are the usual prey species as they are around the size that a cheetah can catch and kill.

They lie hidden in the grass and move close to its unsuspecting prey. When they are around 100 to 200 meters near the prey, they pick up a burst of speed and tackle the prey. They go for the throat thereby suffocating the prey.

One of the cheetah's adaptations, its claws. The claws help it to catch its prey. A Cheetah has a pointed pad on the back of each front leg, because it runs so fast and these help it to stop.

Do jackrabbits have physical or behavioral adaptations?

No animal can survive without both. Even having legs is a physical adaptation. If an animal had no behavioral adaptations, it would just sit in one place and die of starvation. So jackrabbits have both physical and behavioral adaptations.
