Take it to blockbuster as they have a service to remove scratches from discs , it's around £2 per disc.
Mostly you don't, at least not the scratches that stop it from working. Everyone thinks when you break something it can somehow be fixed. You can not just remove scratches like they can be washed off and the game works like new. There are professional machines that polish discs that will not guarantee results. No one is trying to purchase your scratched games so they can be restored at Gamestop are they
Scratched game discs are of little value unless the disc can be polished to remove defects. There main value should be as a lesson to take better care of them.
Home remedies seldom work and you can tell from the ratings that products to remove scratches also do not work. Buy a new used game from amazon or some other site and take better care to keep the disc in the case Apparently pouring water on it, applying a tube-and-a-half's worth of toothpaste on it, then letting it sit for 5-10 minutes before rinsing the toothpaste off and drying it works, although all that's done for me is even more damaged discs
PS2 SVR Game Discs are not expensive when "used" just replace the disc and take better care of the next one. Few home remedies work and if you take the disc for professional cleaning and polishing it still might not work and you'll only be spending the money you could have used to replace the disc. If a Product is sold on amazon you can review how well it works if you find something you are thinking about purchasing a product for removing scratches and some have favorable reviews by about half the reviewers and no product stands out You fix discs by using a kit with a series of abrasives, from course to light, to wear down scratches - step by step - to a smooth finish. Professional systems use multiple abrasives, consisting of different hardness and shapes (sharp to smooth). Regardless of product or system used, the key is to use a series of abrasives (more than one stage) to gradually bring the plastic back to a polished surface. If you want to remove all scratches on your disc, take a look at the 5-stage Scratch Pro repair kit. It will bring the disc back to its original shine and you will have a kit on hand to fix the next disc.
Game Discs are not writable Discs that take changes or edits

You can use a silver polishing cloth or a mild silver cleaner to gently buff out the scratches on your silver ring. Make sure to follow the instructions on the product and avoid using abrasive materials that may further damage the ring. If the scratches are deep, it's best to take your ring to a professional jeweler for repair.
How can you remove scratches from discs? The best way to remove scratches from discs such as video games, DVD'S, CD'S is to use a product called Brasso. Brasso is very cheap to buy and works very well. Most of the time it removes the scratch straight away. But if it doesn't go straight away do it a few more times until the scratch finally disappears.Below is the method how you use it:Get a piece of cloth.Put a small amount of Brasso on the cloth.Rub the cloth in circular motion over the disc.DO NOT USE TOOTHPASTE BECAUSE IT DOES NOT FIX THE DISC AND IT LEAVES SMUDGES ALL OVER THE DISC!
