ANSWER #1
The ten commandments address reverence to God, to parents, to family, to neighbors...
ANSWER #2
The entire Bible stresses reverence to God. In the Old Testament, God gave the Ten Commandment to Moses as mentioned in Answer 1. In the New Testament this reverence was again stressed by Jesus. The Pharisees asked Him what was the greatest of all the Commandments. He replied "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with your whole soul, heart and mind and thy neighbour as thyself". (Matthew 22:37). This can be verified by a reading of Mark 12:28-31. We can also pay reverence to God by self respect and love of each other because this is the way the world will know that we are discilpes of Jesus (See John 13:35). As Christians, absolute devotion and reverence of God is necessary and our reward for that will be the gifts of the Holy Spirit. (refer Corinthians I 12 8:13)
