roosters
durring the winter they are maggots!
typically all insects disappear in the winter and live in warm to hot climate in the summer. its almost like the birds flying south for the winter! lol
I would say winter or summer I'm not so sure. Horses have winter coats, so i would say summer when all the flies start to annoy animals. If that doesn't work, put in winter. I'm positive.

Sometimes gnats are bad during summer time because the winter was mild. Other reasons could be you are near a body of water, even a stream will attract the gnats.
Yes, during winter flies will hibernate, sometimes in large groups, in any available dry and warm space such as an attic. The reason there are so few houseflies in winter is that their eggs will hatch only at temperatures between 24º Centigrade and 35º Centigrade (75º Fahrenheit and 95º Fahrenheit). Meanwhile their numbers steadily diminish owing to insecticides and natural causes. This is a good thing since flies often carry diseases.
