It really depends on how much time you've got to kill. Risk with two players can last an entire day due to how hard it is to take over the board with each person owning half of it and getting many extra pieces a turn. Plan a MINIMUN of 2-3 hours for this game.
Life is more easy going and is much quicker with two people the only drawback is the setup time verses the actual game playing time. It is a hassle to set up/clean up if you're only playing one game with two people and the game lasts maybe half an hour.
In Short: Risk= fun for 2 people with alot of time and patience and strategy.
