Epilepsy only really affects the brain. It is mainly an extra amount of electrical activity in the brain. That in turn may have an effect on other parts of the body, like physical movements in the body and people becoming unconscious.

∙ 15y agoEpilepsy only affects the brain. Epilepsy has no direct affect on any other part of the body. Because the brain controls much of your body, during a seizure some other things can happen, like sudden movements of a limb, but the epilepsy itself is still only affecting the brain.
