The books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John all tell stories about Jesus and his disciples. They are called the 4 "gospels". Gospel means Good News! They tell the good news of Jesus and how God sent him to this earth to save us and bring us back into relationship with God. Through faith in Jesus we can have eternal life. John 3:16. The 4 gospels are the first 4 books in the New Testament. They tell the same story by 4 different apostles who witnessed Jesus and his ministry (kind of like witnessing a car wreck and you have 4 people who saw it from different angles, yet they all saw the same crash and it had the same result). God Bless whoever asked this question.
They are found in The Bible. If you are new to reading and learning about Jesus, I suggest you get the version of the Bible called 'The Message' (from Amazon, or good bookshops) which gives you the story in veryasy-to-understand modern English. You can then progress on to more involved translations like the New International Version or the King James Version of the bible - the same stories but in more difficult ( and older) English. If you are very young, there are many children's Bibles available in bookshops where the stories are in even easier English.
The stories are in the books of the Bible - in Matthew(written by Matthew, a follower of Jesus), Mark (a young acquaintance of Jesus), Luke ( a doctor and friend of the evangelist Paul, who was asked to write a compte history of Jesus) and John (Jesus' best friend and follower). In the Bible, use the contents page to find these sections.
Start with Luke as this tells the familiar story of Jesus' birth, and many of his miracles, stories and teaching. Next read Matthew's book, which is similar to Luke's book but concentrates on much Jesus said rather than what he did. Mark comes next as this is easy to read and short. John should be read last as it is more reflective and more difficult to understand the hidden meanings behind his writings.
