Nothing Gold Can Stay by; Robert Frost .
'Natures first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold,
Her early leafs a flower,
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf,
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day,
Nothing gold can stay, '
Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell.
Johnny had bought a copy of Gone with the Wild for Ponyboy to kill time.
Gone with the wind
Gone With the Wind
Gone with the Wind
Johnny is special to his friends because he was always there for them when they needed his help
I have the book right here its on pg 55 "You know what a greaser is? Bob asked. white trash with long hair." pony responds "you know what a Soc is? White trash with Mustangs and madras" then pony spits on them.
The book states he brought back a week's supply of baloney, two loaves of bread, a box of matches, a paperback copy of Gone with the Wind, peroxide, a deck of cards, and soap. Ponyboy is seen eating a candy bar, but the book doesn't say whether he brought it or Johnny bought it.
He was walking home with cherry and marcia and johnny and two bit when marcia and cherry get called by their boyfriends. then when two bit leaves johnny and pony make their way to the lot where they then fall asleep. that is why he was late. *read the book its actually very good!!*
"Stay gold, Pony, stay gold." This is what Johnny Cade had said to Pony just before dying. Ponyboy tries to put all of the bad thoughts of Johnny out of his mind, right before his breaking point. When he finally decides to read "Gone With the Wind", which he had been reading to Johnny in Windrexville, he finds a note in the book that Johnny had written to Pony explaining what he meant in his final words. Johnny didn't want to die, and didn't deserve it. He wanted to see what the better side of life was before he was gone. He was happy to help the children though, and took great pride in it.
