Benjamin Franklin was a polymath, he had a wide knowledge of many subjects.

His principal field of scientific activity was in Physics, and his interests included math, optics, electricity, music, and so on.

He was mainly employed in helping to run a newspaper, and printed a very popular Poor Richards Almanack, a publication somewhat whimsical at times, and noted for its long range weather forecasts, and for the aphorisms he collected.

He was a Philosopher and had a keen interest in improving the lot of his fellow man. Deservedly revered.
