The CAO is responsible for carrying out all administrative functions of a UN peacekeeping mission efficiently and economically. The CAO acts as the principal advisor to the Head of Mission on all matters relating to the administration of the mission. For personnel, technical and transportation services matters, this responsibility relates only to civilians; in financial and procurement matters, this extends to the whole Mission including the military components.
