Is fire invisible?

Fire is not invisible; fire is the chemical chain reaction from combustion that creates heat and light. Combustion, which is the actual burning process, is strictly chemical rearrangement and is invisible - but once you add oxygen to it, it becomes visible as fire.

What CFC catalyzes a chain reaction that breaks down ozone in upper atmosphere?

CFC's catalyzes a chain reaction. This takes place on PSC's.

How can i Outline the Inhibition of combustion chains involving a free radicals mechanism?

The combustion process begins when a fuel source is heated beyond its ignition temperature in the presence of an oxidant, with this molecular energy creating a self-sustaining chemical chain reaction of radicals when the energy it produces is greater than or equal to the energy needed for continued burning. so by this definition removal of the oxidising agent will prevent the chain reaction to occur.

Do you currently use combustion to produce nuclear energy in nuclear reactors?

No. The heat from the reactor is used to boil water. The steam from said water is used to turn turbines which produces electricity. No, there is no combustion in a nuclear reactor. Nuclear energy does not need combustion to start it, there is no chemical process involved. It works simply by a neutron chain reaction.

An ongoing series of fission reactions is called a (n) .?

Fission and fusion reactions are chain reactions but in different ways. In fission reaction a heavy nuclei is bombarded with a slow moving neutron and this nuclei breaks to produce more such neurons along with generation of new elements. These slow moving neutrons are further used to carry out fission of more such nuclei. This is chain reaction. Fusion reaction are a different class of nuclear reaction in which small nuclei fuse together to produce bigger nuclei along with the generation of energy due to mass defect.. In fusion reaction lot of energy is produced and this energy is used to carry out further reaction. Thus both can be called series reaction.

What is the significance of the fire trianlge?

oxygen, fuel, heat and chemical chain reaction

How the fires start?

A fire is a combustion reaction, where oxygen reacts with a fuel. This is known as oxidation. For a fire to start and be sustained, four different components are needed, Heat, Fuel, Oxygen and a chemical chain reaction. Heat is needed to take a material or fuel past its ignition point. The ignition point of a material is the point at which it will undergo a combustion reaction. The fuel is what will undergo the oxidation reaction. For the fuel to be able to oxidize, it needs a constant supply of oxygen. The last component needed is a chemical chain reaction. When burning Methane, the chemical reaction is CH4 + 2O2 = CO2 + 2H2O The breaking of CH4 and 2O2 bonds liberates enough heat to break surrounding CH4 and 2O2 bonds. This is known as a chemical chain reaction, as one bond breaking leads to other bonds breaking and so on. If for whatever reason, any one of these components is removed, a fire cannot be started and sustained. To take a fuel past its ignition point, a source of ignition is needed. A source of ignition is simply something that can take a material above a critical value (ignition point) to allow the material to combust.

What is chain termination?

Chain termination is any chemical reaction leading to the destruction of a reactive intermediate in a chain propagation step in the course of a polymerization, effectively bringing it to a halt.

Does the explosion in a nuclear bomb count as a rapid chemical reaction?

No, a nuclear bomb involves a nuclear chain-reaction.A chemical reaction involves the orbiting electrons in an atom.A nuclear reaction involves the nucleus (hence "Nuclear") of an atom.
