It doesn't depend on the dog if it is a show dog it will cost more than a home pet. They also tend to be more expensive if they are pedigree. It does not depend on the breed but the better it is for showing.

Im really big into horses and I really don't think its always the breed that's expensive. the value of a horse can very depending on their training, confirmation and their bloodlines. I have noticed many people will but the horses with great bloodlines (Zippos Pine Bar) (sorry if I spelled the name wrong) It is the case however that some breeds may be more valued or expensive due to their rarity, either their rarity to a certsin part of the world or their rarity in general. I have noticed that Gypsy Vanners are priced quite high in America. Im not sure about around the world but I know they are price quite high here. I guess its all about which horse is better and how much you yourself think the horses are worth. There are some TBs, QHs, Paints and Friesains that are sold on Craigslist for meerly $500 because they are not trained. But then you can price a champion reining horse, barrel racer jumper or racer at hundres of thousands of dollars. I guess its not the breed persay but more on how much training, and how good they are in the show ring or racetrack. :)
