Queens and The Bronx are connected by three bridges: The Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, the Throgs Neck Bridge, and the Triborough or Triboro Bridge, which is also called the Robert F. Kennedy or RFK Bridge.

The current (as of December 30, 2010) toll for cars on all three of these bridges is $6.50 cash (without E-ZPass) and $4.80 with E-ZPass.

Is Rikers Island in The Bronx?

No, and yes. Rikers Island is an actual island. It is located at the north end of the East River, in between Manhattan, The Bronx and Queens. So it is not physically part of the borough of the Bronx (which is the only New York City borough that is not an island or part of an island, but is attached to the mainland of New York State). But officially -- in state government -- Rikers Island is considered to be part of the Bronx, the same way that Governors Island and Roosevelt Island (which are also actual islands) are considered to be part of the borough of Manhattan. However, since its only bridge connects to the Astoria neighborhood of Queens, Rikers Island is included as part of Queens Community Board 1, and it has a Queens zip code.

Are Manhattan and The Brooklyn Bridge two different islands?

The Brooklyn Bridge is not an island. As the name suggests, The Brooklyn Bridge is a bridge. New York City is made up of five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island. Manhattan is an island. Brooklyn, along with Queens, is part of the island known as Long Island. Brooklyn and Queens take up the western end of Long Island. The Brooklyn Bridge connects the borough of Brooklyn to the borough of Manhattan. It transverses the East River at Lower Manhattan on the Manhattan side, and somewhere between the Brooklyn Heights and Vinegar Hill neighborhoods on the Brooklyn side.

What countries are connected by Brooklyn Bridge?

No countRies are connected by the Brooklyn Bridge. Besides, you do NOT really use the word COUNTY in New York City. You use Boroughs, which have different names, Borough of Bronx = Bronx County AKA The Bronx Borough of Brooklyn = Kings County Borough of Manhattan = New York County Borough of Queens = Queens County [This is the only area in NYC where the County & Borough share the same name] Borough of Staten Island = Richmond County. The Brooklyn Bridge connects New York County [Manhattan] with Kings County [Brooklyn]. NYC = The City of New York, AKA New York City = 5 of 62 counties in New York State.
