Have you tried replacing the batteries? If you have, then here is another option. You may have to go to settings and reconnect the controllers. If you are unsure how to do that, I'm pretty sure it is on your Wii Menu (the blue house button on your controller). Also, be sure to check and see if the sensor above your TV is working properly. If not, that may be why, because that is how your pointer appears on your screen! If you have checked all of these and none are working, it may be either the Wii itself or maybe your television. I don't think it is the controllers though. So if you have tried all of this and still no luck, see if it is your Wii that is the problem. That may be it in the end if all of these aren't working.
