Yes mesh is the most expensive because in a mesh environment, a cable runs from every computer to every other computer. If you have four computers , you must have six cables three coming from each computer to the other computers.
network interface card (nic)
A network must have at least 2 computers.
Network Interface Card (NIC)
You must have a wireless network connection. If you failed at connecting, maybe it has a password.
To get connected to Network Computer must have installed & configured NIC (Network Interface Card). Then connect RJ45 port on your computer to existing Network Switch ports available in the Network with a Cat5 or Cat6 cable.
To access a network, some type of network card must be installed in the computer.
All of the components must be at the same speed or higher - this would include all the cables, the network interface cards, and any network connectivity devices such as hubs, switches, routers, etc.
A network card, or network adapter as it is sometimes called, allows a computer to connect to a network of other computers. These devices will usually have both a physical layer and a data link layer. Ethernet devices will most often have an 8P8C socket where the network cable can be connected.
True
In theory, you need all of the following, and perhaps some more:Computers or other interconnected devices. The computers need to have a network card.Intermediate devices: switches; for larger networks, you'll also need routersSeveral communication protocols (that is, the devices must follow certain rules for communication)Cables or some other media to transmit signals (for Wi-Fi and similar, the "media" is the air)For practical purposes, to have a LAN in your home, all you need is to make sure that each computer has a network card, that you have a switch, and network cables (UTP 5, i.e., the standard network cables). For a Wi-Fi network, you need to make sure that each computer has Wi-Fi capabilities, and you need the Wi-Fi access point - the device that communicates with the computers.
