Guitar Hero. Rock band came about 2 years after GH 1. Note that Harmonix that makes Rock Band today also made GH 1 & GH 2. A complicated series of company purchases and franchise licensing led to Harmonix ending up under Electronic Arts/MTV/Viacom without the rights to the franchise Guitar Hero. GH on the other hand went with Activision and is now (GH3 onwards) developed by Neversoft.
