Non-nuclear reactions can be chemical, electrical or physical - the nuclei do not change in size, electrical charge, or properties.

For example,

Physical: water turning into ice or steam; heat conduction; trash compaction

Chemical: mixing baking soda with vinegar;

Electrical: electrolysis; electroplating
