How do you calculate friction losses in pipelines?

pressure loss and friction loss in a pipe can be reduced by 1) using smooth pipes 2) Using straight pipes, because the more bends a pipe has the more energy it will lose. 3)pumping downhill where possible.

What doese conserving water mean?

In physics, conservation means that, within the scope of the event being observed, that no loss of mass or energy from the system takes place. For example, in the chemical reaction known as combustion, a burning object appears to vanish or to be reduced in size/mass/weight when in fact the objects matter was converted into head/light/water vapor. The act or process of conserving.

How can cacti conserve water?

Cacti and succulents store water in special cells in the plants' body for later use. The skin of the cacti has a waxy coating to prevent water loss.

Should copper pipes be insulated?

Insulating your copper pipes is a great idea. Insulating with foam will insure less heat loss which save energy and probably take a few bucks off your electricity bill.
