depends on a lot of things........is your battery shorted out or is it just dead?
Overcharge, often due to a shorted cell.
Cause it is shorted out ,replace it.
No, not always, but in most cases yes. If the battery has a cell that is shorted out it may not jump start.
if i sccidently shorted the battery car wont start but cranks whats wrong ??
The car light? YES! Leaving your car light on WILL make your battery run out. Things like leaving your car door open if the light is on because it is open will cause the lgiht to Mae your car battery run out. There is a big difference between shorted out a car battery and running the battery down. Lighting in itself won't short a battery out but will run it down.
Usually, overcharge, sometimes overdischarge. Check the alternator - the regulator is probably shorted.
A battery cannot be drained by a shorted diode when the ignition key is off.
If the battery meter in the car is running low, you probably have a bad alternator or a shorted cell in the battery. There are other possibilities, but these are the most likely. The regulator fuse could be blown, but that usually means a bad alternator.
The alternator really can be shorted out but you can cause a short if you contact the hot battery connection to ground. whenever you work on a car, you should really disconnect the negative battery cable. It takes that battery out of harms way and you too.
yes
Duh, like no!! Anything like this indicates there is something grossly wrong with your car and warrants immediate repair. You may have shorted out the battery possibly ... or ... the battery was shorted out to begin with. Do not drive a car when there is smoke coming from the engine area ... bad things will happen and then KABOOM, you have a fire or other uncontrollable situation that may put your life and others in danger.
