green antifreeze is just the usual antifreeze red anitfreeze is newer bio degradable antifreeze. supposed to be NON harmful to the environment red is more than likely cool Tex. It is a 5 year antifreeze. The green is ordinary polypropylene and should be replaced every 2 years.

The antifreeze level could be low, or the thermostat may need to be replaced, or the antifreeze line might need to be blead to get all the air out, the air in the line will make it overheat.
There might be a leak in the water pump, or in the radiator. Maybe even check the radiator hoses for cracks and leaks.
Your heater core behind the glove box has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
sounds like your coolant lines, heater core, or both needs replaced. i just replaced the heater core in my truck with the same problem
