An XM satellite radio antenna cannot be used as a cell phone antenna as they use a different type of connection. Satellite signals operate on a different frequency from cell phones and use different technologies in their antennas as well.
parabolic
A car antenna booster is used to 'boost' the radio waves of the car's antenna. This is usually used to improve radio quality and reduce static that might be heard.
they use radio waves to pick up some what satellite images or existance of things in space
Light weighted antennas are used for communication
They do not make very good antennas though.
Cables are not used, the satellite emits radio waves
Not if you are in a fairly large metropolitan area where they have XM repeaters all over town. If that doesn't work well, put your antenna on a window sill. Most indoor XM antennae have a 20' cord for this purpose.
despun antenna is used in spin stabilization of cylindrical shaped satellite in which this abtenna is mounted on the top of the cylindrical satellite and the cylindrical body of the satellite keeps spinning around its vertical axis while the despun antenna on the body keeps following the specific area on the surface of the earth.
A radio telescope gathers and focuses radio waves, or electromagnetic waves outside the visual spectrum. A satellite telescope is sent outside the atmosphere to become a satellite of either the earth or sun, unless it is sent outside the solar system like the Voyager spacecraft. Many satellite telescopes carry several types of telescopes in one package to gather as much information as possible, like the Hubble.
No. The satellites used to distribute Sirius/XM "satellite" radio operate on frequencies assigned to Sirius/XM "satellite" radio. They don't operate on frequencies allocated to the GPS system.
