Many things can be written in a diary. A diary may include such things as the day-to-day goings-on in your (or someone else's!) personal or business life. It may include artwork or contain a record of one's observations, such as for a bird watcher or a police officer. Some people keep diaries of special events, such as vacations, weddings, etc.
