Firstly, we do well by keeping in mind that sufferings are not from God. The Holy Scriptures tells us in James 1:13: "When under trial, let no one say: "I am being tried by God." For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone" The book of Job chapters 1 and 2 reveal that God's adversary Satan is behind all man's sufferings. In the book of Revelation in chapter 21:3-5 God promises that all causes of human sufferings will be removed in due time: "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." And the One seated on the throne said: "Look! I am making all things new." Also, he says: "Write, because these words are faithful and true." Finally, James 1:12 assures us: "Happy is the man that keeps on enduring trial, because on becoming approved he will receive the crown of life, which Jehovah promised to those who continue loving him." Many Christians of times past, even today, have overcome the pains of untold sufferings having exercised faith in God's sure promise of a world free of sufferings. (2 Peter 3:13)

Why did the Buddha want to overcome suffering?

The alternative is to suffer. Do you want to suffer? There is no point to suffering. You can only justify because of the condition of this world but it does not need to be so. We must and we are as human beings in war with suffering otherwise we would be hurting each other. This is the best of humanity when we come together to overcome suffering.

Do Christians have different answers about suffering?

Yes, Christians believe in a different kind of suffering than other religions do. Others think of sufferings in this life or their "afterlife" but Christians believe something completely different. Suffering is not being with God according to the Bible. Jesus died for our sins and ended our suffering which was death. Through Christ we live forever, not in this life, but in Heaven with Him eternally with no fear or pain or sorrow ever. I hope that gave you some insight into the Christian mind! :)

Do Christians need to destroy Islam?

A:Whatever answer I give will not suffice if you believe this should happen. So I should let you say whether Christians need to destroy Islam. Do you believe Christianity is a religion designed to cause suffering and evil? Do you believe that by creating untold suffering and evil, we can eliminate suffering and evil? Do you believe that Christianity can not survive as a faith if there are other faiths available for people to choose from? If the answer to any of these questions in 'No' then Christians do not need to destroy Islam. It is true that some Muslims have caused suffering and evil in the world, as have some Christians. This does not justify attacks on the good people who follow either faith.

Is suffering a test?

Some Christians see suffering as God's punishment of sinful people or the world as a whole. Others see such suffering as a way a loving God tests the faith and fortitude of survivors. According to St. Paul, Christians should rejoice in suffering because it produces endurance, hope and character (Romans 5:3-5). Still other Christians see innocents' suffering as evidence of the inscrutable will of a God who "works in mysterious ways" toward an ultimate but unknowable good. Some Christians offer no explanation but, like Job, seek to trust in God. In the past, Roman Catholic Christians were taught that they should "offer up" pain, with the idea that through faith, suffering that seems meaningless can be redeemed and transformed. The fourth-century saint Augustine says, "God would not allow any evil to exist unless out of it he could draw a greater good. This is part of the wisdom and goodness of God."

How was the suffering servant theology?

The suffering servant theology is a concept found in the Book of Isaiah in the Bible, particularly in chapter 53. It refers to a figure who will suffer on behalf of others and bring salvation through that suffering. Christians see this figure as a prefiguration of Jesus Christ.
